HEALTH STATUS OF IDA VALE LIVESTOCK

Brucellosis (Brucella ovis) Ida Vale is currently an accredited flock (WAOVAC278), blood testing rams bi-annually to maintain this accreditation.

Ovine Johnes Disease as at April 2011, sheep at Ida Vale hold 4 points for the OJD ABC point system. This is from the WA 2 point minimum and 2 points for extra testing by faecal culture conducted by WA Dept Agric. A consignment of sheep can be vaccinated to gain another point, bringing the total points to 5 if required. Please inquire.

Worms Ida Vale is breeding for worm resistance. The 2012 drop Dorper, White Suffolk and White Dorper ram and ewe lambs have had individual faecel worm counts collected and analysed.  ASBV's details should be available for this trait in March 2012.
